BLACK REPUBLICANS ORGANIZE

On Saturday December 4, 2010 at 11am several Black Republicans met in Montgomery to select officers for the Republican Council the black arm of the State Republican Party. The officers selected were Rev. Gary Crum, Chairman, and Greg Griffin, Vice Chairman and Dwayne Brown, Treasurer. The meeting was well attended. Former Chairman Richard Finley presided until the new Chairman Gary Crum was elected. Soon Chairman Crum will hit the airwaves and road as he leads the council for the next two years.

The November elections resulted in the Alabama Republican Party controlling both houses of the legislature, all of the State constitutional offices and all but one of our statewide elected offices. If it were not for the Republican Council Blacks in Alabama would have very little access to the inner circle of the Republican Party. Black Republicans saw this day coming for a very long time. Thanks to long time republicans like Rev. Al Dixon and Doug Moore we are not left out in the cold.

We pray that Democrats and Republicans can join together to make this State a better place for everyone. It will take BI-partisan cooperation to overcome the economic crisis that we face. Please pray for all of us as we work together for you!

In the words of my dad, You must honor the chair whether it is sitting, walking or lying down.”
