BREAKING THE VICIOUS CYCLE OF POVERTY

It is not easy for poor people to break the vicious cycle of poverty. In fact it is almost impossible. The majority of us give very little thought to the plethora of decisions that we make regarding our finances each day. Yet those financial decisions will affect our children, grandchildren and our great grand children for generations to come.

The cycle of poverty is the theory that poor people tend to remain poor throughout their lives. This is based on the poor not having the resources that are required to break the vicious cycle of poverty, such as financial capital, education, or connections. Additionally, it leads to the poor becoming very uneasy.

What are some of the solutions for breaking the cycle? Proposed solutions would involve the elimination of racism, social inequality, redistribution of wealth, public education, welfare programs, creating new wealth among the poor and tax education. I have one solution that I believe will break the cycle if you really want to break it.

Every right decision that a poor person makes it will greatly increase the possibility that the cycle of poverty will be broken. Every time we resist an evil temptation, every time that we break a bad habit and replace it with a good habit will lead to freedom from poverty.

If you are poor and want to begin to break the vicious cycle of poverty I suggest that you start this Christmas and limit your Christmas spending to five dollars. Take the five dollars and purchase a paperback book by Napoleon Hill, titled “THINK AND GROW RICH”.

In the words of my dad: “Stay away from the pig ears and fried pork chops.  Eat more fruits and vegetables.”
