I am a Black “silk stocking” Republican who must confess is really impressed with Barrack Obama. Can he really win in November? Yes he can! Will he win? It all depends. I told my wife Debra that I will know the moment that I leave the voting booth if Barrack Obama has won the election. She asked, “Pray tell? I said, “ If I go into that voting booth and I am able to vote for John McCain, a White man, who I know without a doubt would be a better President for my financial interest despite the fact that a qualified Black man is on the ballot, then a “working class” White person will be able to go into their voting booth and vote for Obama who without a doubt would be a better President for them in spite of the fact that he is a Black man.  

I have worked hard and invested well. If Obama wins he admits that my tax bill will increase tremendously. I have three children to educate through law schools and medical school. For the average Black American Barack Obama should receive their vote. For the average working class White American Barack Obama should receive their vote. I think it is time for a Black man to serve this country as President. For this to occur it will set me back financially. Are working class whites willing to continue to suffer financially just to hold on to a white President? The answer to that question will determine the outcome of the election. Will we vote against our financial interest because of the race of the candidate? I will know on Election Day. It will take every ounce of strength in my body and soul to pull that level for John McCain and if I do, OBAMA WILL WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the words of my dad, “If these gas prices get any higher I am going to buy me a horse!”
