Griffin Speaks DEBT RELIEF
What
most of the debt relief companies are telling their future clients is to
stop paying their bills for several months. When your bills are so far
behind the debt Relief Company enters the picture and negotiate with your
creditors to reduce your debt. The strategy of the debt Relief Company is
that your creditors will settle for pennies on the dollar because they are
fearful that you are about to go belly up. In
exchange for their services the Debt Relief Company will charge you a large
fee which you are willing to pay since you aren’t paying your bills. What
the debt Relief Company fails to tell the client is that the creditor can
still sue you and possibly garnish your wages if you fail to pay your debt.
In most cases the Debt Relief Company requires their fee up front. If you
are not careful you will most likely get suckered. The
promises from these scoundrels are incredibly alluring to people caught in
the quicksand of being in too much consumer debt, and who will believe
anything to get out of that quicksand of debt. Don’t fall for the tricks
of these dirty scoundrels. Don’t pay them for what you can do yourself. You
can negotiate
lower interest rates and stretch out your repayment schedule. You
can also negotiate with your creditors to pay off the highest interest card
first. Try this plan: Call
all of your creditors and let them know that you are considering using a
debt relief company to pay off your credit cards. In a few seconds they will
offer you a great deal, In the words of my dad, “You must honor the chair whether it is sitting, walking or lying down.” Greg Griffin is a free lance writer.
