BETHANY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
On
Saturday May 14th, 2005 I was scheduled to be in Atlanta, Georgia
to attend my 25th Morehouse College Reunion. I had to cancel my
plans because I had a bigger and more elaborate event to attend. I attended
my son’s eighth grade graduation from Bethany Christian Academy. Greg Jr.
had a wonderful year at Bethany. It worked for us. He received the double
dose that I asked the principal Mrs. Lee to give him when he first enrolled.
He did well enough that he will be attending BTW (Pre Law) Magnet School in
the fall. God is good! All of the time!
If
you are interested in sending your child to a quality school at a reasonable
price I strongly recommend Bethany Christian Academy. The principal, Mrs.
Erma Lee runs a tight program with a world class staff. I was very impressed
with Gregory’s teachers. I was equally impressed with the size of his
eighth grade class. There were only fourteen (14) students in his class.
We
attended Greg’s Baccalaureate at Bethany Seventh Day Adventis Church
on Saturday morning at 11 am. Elder Gary Collins, Pastor of Jordan
Street SDA Church, Pensacola, Florida delivered the address. He did a
wonderful job. Greg Jr. was amazed at how much of what the Elder said in his
address was what I preach daily in my home. After the service we returned
home and rested before returning at 7pm to attend Greg’s commencement
exercises.
Attorney
Loretta Collins, wife of Elder Gary Collins delivered the commencement
address. She also did a wonderful job. It was one of the finest ceremonies I
have ever attended. I enjoyed the evening and was very proud of my son and
his alma mater.
Bethany’s
graduating Class of 2005 consisted of the following students: JERRELLE
COBBS, MERCEDES COLEMAN, ESSEJ CRAWFORD, GREGORY OSWALD GRIFFIN JR., ANTONIO
HARTWELL, XAVIER MATTHEWS, JOSHUA NETTLES, DIAMOND RUDOLPH, ELLIS SMILEY,
SHABERTA SMITH, SETH SULLIVAN, JARED THOMAS, JASMINE WASHINGTON and ANTHONY
WORTHY. I congratulate all of these fine young people on a job well
done. I might also point out that every student that applied to BTW Magnet
Program from Bethany was successful in getting accepted. Bethany only goes
to the eight grade.
Faculty
and Staff consist of Mrs. Erma Lee, Principal, Ms. Dorothy Mobley,
Secretary, and Dr. Kunle Harrison, Chairman of the Board. Instructional
Staff consist of: Ms. Faith Victor, 1st grade, Mrs. Sonja
Daniels, 2nd grade, Ms. Linda Campbell, 3rd/4th
grade, Ms. Cheryl Jones, 5ht/6th grade, Mr. LaDonnis Perry, 7th
grade, Mrs. Loraine Bussey, 8th grade. Support Staff consist of
Mrs. Rosemary Thorton, Food Service, Mr. John Jackson, Band, Mr. Edward
Daniels, maintenance, Mrs. Monica Mason, PTC, Mr. Stanley Edwards, Physical
Education, Ms. Maxine Winzy, school nurse, Ms. Lisa James, treasurer, and
Mrs. Loretta Smith, after care. Bethany Christian Academy is located at 1765

I
believe that Greg’s experience at Bethany has prepared him for the life
changing and watershed experiences that he will encounter when he attends
Morehouse College. We had a great year and it was money well spent! I give
Bethany Christian Academy my highest rating: FIVE STARS!
