Griffin Speaks SENATOR BARACK OBAMA HAS “IT”
A few days ago I received a very welcomed phone call from my friend Attorney Rose Sanders (aka Faye Ora Rose Toure). She extended to me an invitation to the events commemorating the 42nd annual Bloody Sunday March, a march in 1965 that became a seminal moment in civil rights history. I was looking forward to personally meeting both Obama and Hillary. My connection to Obama is one of my best friends, Jeh Charles Johnson, one of Senator Obama’s top New York fundraisers and supporters. My connection to Senator Hillary Clinton is another one of my best friends C. Howie Hodges II, son-in-law of the late Atlanta Mayor Maynard H. Jackson. Howie was a Clinton appointee. I had planned to call Jeh on my cell phone as I dined with Obama. I was planning on calling Howie as I chatted with Hillary and Bill. I was in Chicago once when President Clinton was there and I dropped Howie’s name. I could tell that the President was very fond of Howie. The jury is still out on whom Howie will throw his support to. I am sure a phone call from the former President will make his decision tough. It is my understanding that the former President has not called and asked Howie to support his wife. You know an old lady once told me “you have not because you ask not!” A family medical emergency precluded me from attending the events. Thankfully everything appears to be tolerably well now. I am a Black Republican, but I must admit that Obama has my eye. There is something about Obama that I like. I like a lot. I may be persuaded to throw my support to him. As I see it I control about three other Black Republican votes in Alabama. It was indeed ‘Rock Star’ politics. The annual bridge crossing somehow was lost in the media circus. All eyes were on Obama, Hillary and Bill. I watched Obama’s speech on C-span. I was very impressed. Obama has the ‘It” factor. If anyone can pull it off it will be him. However, I honestly believe that Rudy Giuliani is going to be the next President of the United States. Rudy cleaned up New York. He was on the front lines of 911. In the next election what Rudy Giuliani did in New York is going to carry him straight to the White House. I have predicted the victory of the last five Presidents. In
