THE FLU

Gregory Oswald Griffin Sr.The flu, also commonly known as Influenza is a contagious disease that is caused by the influenza virus. I am forty-four (44) years old and have never contracted the flu. I believe that I know the cure for the flu. I have not shared this information with my personal physician, Dr. Jefferson Underwood III for fear that he may think that I have lost my mind. In fact he may already question my sanity since I have not visited his office in ten years. I have not had a physical since high school.

My wife, a registered nurse thinks that I am insane because I don’t run to the doctor. I have not had a headache in twenty-five years. I walk eight miles a day and sleep four hours a night. I don’t spend one second worrying about dying. I am aware however that every generation has had a 100% mortality rate. I don’t care how healthy you live, how much you go to the doctor you will eventually pass on.

My belief is that my love of eating chicken fixed any kind of way and my exercising has kept me healthy. In fact it has been reported in Medical Journals that the only thing that has proven to prolong life is exercise. I have known several people that have lived to be over 100 years old. They all loved chicken. They all exercised and none have been overweight.

The flu comes on suddenly and usually includes these symptoms: body aches, nasal congestion. Sore throat, fever, and dry cough, headache, and fatigue. It is spread, or transmitted; when an infected person sneezes, coughs, or talks and send the virus into the surrounding air and the other person inhale the virus. The virus enters the body of the other person and begins to multiply. You can also catch the flu by touching a door handle and then touch your mouth or nose.

An average of 36000 people per year in the United States die from the flu, and 114000 have to be hospitalized as a result of the flu. The flu is nothing to play with so take it from me: EAT MORE CHICKEN AND EXERCISE!
