YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW

Things aren’t going so well. It seems as though the roof is caving in on you. You just can’t seem to get it together. Everything you attempt to do fails. The next thing to come is death and destruction.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith”. Galatians 6:7-10.

If you sow good deeds you will reap good rewards. Are you the town gossip? Are you cheating someone? Are you betraying someone who trusts you? Have you committed a fraud against someone? Are you committing adultery? Have you stolen any money? If the answer to any of these questions is yes “Watch out!” You will reap what you sow.

So often people who are deceptive seem to be getting away with their evil ways. They seem to be living high. Then disaster falls upon them. You feel sorry for them, but then you remember: “You reap what you sow!”

Colossians 3:23-25

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. 25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Deuteronomy 32:35

35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

Matthew 5:38-39

38
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Matthew 26:52

52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Romans 12:19

19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Hebrews 10:30

30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord.  The Lord shall judge his people.

Luke 18:7-8

7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Someone has done you wrong and God will repay him or her. Just be patient and hold your horses! Its payback time!

In the words of my dad: Dr. Melvin J. Griffin Sr.: “Vengeance is mine said the Lord, but you know I don’t mind helping God out!”
