Griffin Speaks Griffin Starts Weekly Column with Montgomery-Tuskegee Times
My decision to write a weekly column comes in part from my decision not to accept speaking engagements while my children are young. I firmly believe that I need to spend as much time as possible raising my own kids instead of going around telling other people how to raise theirs. I am a black Republican. Yes you read it correctly. In 1994 I was the Republican nominee for the Alabama court of criminal appeals. I received a half-million-plus votes. I would have won, but my white democratic opponent put my face on her television commercial. This column will deal with the truth as I see it. I am concerned that so many of us do not succeed in life. Our families are being destroyed. Black male/female relationships are at their worst. I want to tell black women how to find and keep a man. I want to tell black men how to be a man to the woman that finds them. In this column I want to teach black people how to deal and maneuver in white America. You may find this shocking, but all your problems aren't caused by racism. I will write more about issues than people. In some instances I will share with you stories about my relationship with certain celebrities and how it contributed to my life. I am looking forward to next week's issue of the Montgomery-Tuskegee-Times where I will tell you what I think about the recently passed sales tax in Montgomery County.
