Montgomery, Alabama is well known for the bus boycott. What many people do not know is the number of beautiful women over the age of forty that reside within its city limits. I have decided to publicly acknowledge three Montgomery women that most men in Montgomery consider being three of the most beautiful women in the world. These three women are probably not aware of the number of men that compliment them daily.
My wife, Debra is under the age of forty, so I won't get in trouble writing this article. In fact she agrees with me that these three women are three of the most beautiful women in the world. My purpose in writing about these women is to inform young black girls that they have superb role models within their community.
I have traveled extensively and met many beautiful women. I can honestly say that I have never in my 43 years of living met any woman more beautiful than any of these three women. In my opinion they are beautiful because of their physical beauty and intellect. Physically beautiful and intelligent, now that is a winning hand.
Beautiful woman number one, is Municipal Court Judge Karen Knight. She is truly a role model for any breathing woman. Judge Karen Knight is by anyone's standard beautiful. She is humble, smart, wealthy and confident. There are few women over the age of forty that can surpass her in beauty.
Beautiful woman number two is Montgomery Socialite Kay Underwood. Kay Underwood is drop dead gorgeous. She carries herself like an African Queen. She is humble, smart, wealthy and confident. I can not think of any woman over the age of forty that surpasses her in beauty.
Beautiful woman number three, is Federal Judge Vanzetta Penn McPherson. She has more class than any woman I have ever met. She enters a room and everyone's head is sure to turn. She is truly the Lena Horn of Montgomery, Alabama.
Each of these beautiful women is married to handsome and successful African American men. Each has suffered trials and tribulations. Each of them has succeeded despite crippling circumstances, which accompany being born an African-American woman in America.
My hope is that our young women will study these three women and learn. What is it about these women that make them three of the most beautiful women in the world? What is their secret? Can other women over the age of forty look as good.
My first observation is that these women in addition to being beautiful, drop dead gorgeous and intelligent; they are physically fit. I have never seen them at the local buffet. They have maintained an ideal weight. If you are over the age of forty and physically fit you will look ten years younger.
My second observation is that these women married handsome and successful men. If you are a beautiful and intelligent woman, the worst thing you can do is marry an unsuccessful, unattractive man. He will make your life a living hell. He will be insecure.
My third observation is that these women prepared themselves to survive without the support of a man. Each of them is well educated. They prepared themselves so well that they don't have to stay in relationships that are unhealthy.
My fourth observation is that these women are committed to their families. I have never heard anything negative about them. They are the epitome of black womanhood.
My connection to Judge Karen Knight is: She is my personal real estate attorney Billy Carter's law partner. I also found her expensive gold watch in the parking lot of her firm.
My connection to Kay Underwood is The Gardner Family. When I worked for her aunt and uncle Dr. and Mrs. A. G. Gaston, I established friendships with a number of her family members. I also see her at every important social event that I attend.
My connection to Federal Judge Vanzetta Penn Mcpherson is: She is a neighbor. She also sponsored me to the Capital City Club fifteen years ago. One day when I was walking my three children she got out of her automobile leaned down and spoke to each of my kids. When she returned to her automobile, my daughter, Alexis said, " She makes me feel so important!"
If you are a young woman, I strongly urge you to observe these women. You should make them your role model. If you want to be thin then observe a thin person. If you want to be wealthy then observe a wealthy person. If you want to be one of the most beautiful women in the world then observe Kay Underwood, Judge Karen Knight and Judge Vanzetta Penn McPherson.
