KENDALL DUNSON

Kendall Dunson a shareholder at Beasley Allen was recently elected to serve as President of the Montgomery County Bar Association. He was installed as the first African American President of the ninety-six year old organization on Thursday, January 27, 2011. I was personally thrilled to learn that he had been elected.

The mission of the Montgomery County Bar Association is to provide continuing education for attorneys and promote professionalism among the bar. The election of Kendall Dunson will definitely strengthen that mission. To be elected by his fellow lawyers to serve in such a high position says a lot about Kendall. He is without doubt a man of integrity, ability and humility.

Attorney Dunson is a native of LaGrange, Georgia. He was an honors graduate of LaGrange High School in 1989 where he served as president of his senior class. He also received a full scholarship to the University of Georgia where he earned a degree in Corporate Finance. He was also President of his fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi, Incorporated. Kendall is also a Calloway Scholar and graduate of the University Of Alabama School Of Law. He is licensed to practice law in both Alabama and Georgia.

Kendall is past president of both the Capital City Bar Association and the Alabama Lawyers Association. He has served as a Board member of the National Bar Association.

Kendall is married to Samarria Munnerlyn Dunson, Assistant General Counsel for the Alabama Department of Public Health and niece of Atty. Jock Smith and Yvette Smiley-Smith. He is the proud father of two children.

In the words of my dad, You must honor the chair whether it is sitting, walking or lying down.”
