Griffin Speaks PRACTICAL DREAMER
Never in the history of mankind, has the time been more appropriate for the practical dreamer. Are you a practical dreamer? Do you have commitment? Do you have faith? Do you exercise your imagination? Do you feel your desires? Do you dare to dream? When we hear of dreamers we often think of that most famous dreamer: Martin Luther King Jr. (“I have A Dream!”), but there have been and are many other dreamers. Columbus dreamed of a new world, and discovered it. Marquess Guglielmo Marconi dreamed of a system for harnessing the intangible forces of the ether. Marconi’s discovery set the foundation for wireless communication. Thomas Edison dreamed of an electrical lamp. He failed more than ten thousand times and eventually saw his dream come true. Henry Ford poor and uneducated dreamed of inventing a horseless carriage. He realized his dream and because he dared to dream we have automobiles. The Wright brothers dreamed of a flying machine. Abraham Lincoln dreamed of freed colored men. Booker T. Washington dreamed of educated Negroes. You can not be lazy and be a dreamer. You have to have ambition and an open mind. You have to have faith. Sometimes we allow those closest to us to destroy our dreams. Because of the Internet I am able to reach people across the world. So often I receive communications from people abroad telling me that they stumbled upon one of my articles and it empowered them. Someone reading this article has a dream that if realized could change the world. Do not be afraid to move forward with your dream. Give yourself permission to dream the grandest of dreams. Invest your time, money and energy in bringing your dream into reality. You know what you want in life and now is the time to go for it! Envision your dream! Look at your dream in your mind’s eye. Pretend that your dream is real! Use your imagination and imagine that you can not fail. Believe that your dream can come true. Believe that you have the ability to create what you most desire. Commit to your dream! I have a dream of one day becoming one of the world’s truly great authors. I want to write books that will endure the test of time. I dream of writing a succession of books that will make this a richer and better world for all who read them. I dream of writing books that will kindle in the mind of the reader hope, faith, courage, and tolerance. Is the World ready for: Griffin Speaks? In the words of my dad: “Stay away from the pig ears and fried pork chops. Eat more fruits and vegetables.” Greg Griffin is a free lance writer.
