Griffin Speaks SPRING BREAK 2010
Alexis
has informed me that she is undecided about Spring Break plans since she is
concentrating on the upcoming ACT
exam and Harvard University. We are scheduled to visit Princeton in
the summer. Debra is trying to decide whether to fly to New York or Los
Angeles for a shop until you drop shopping spree. Christopher and I will be flying to Dallas, Texas to visit a friend that I have not seen in 31 years, Texas Millionaire, T. William McIntyre the most colorful human being I have ever known. Thelton “Bill” McIntyre has done considerably well since our days at Morehouse College. He has owned several companies and made several stunning investments. There was a rumor floating around Morehouse circles that T. William McIntyre was worth about 50 to 100 million dollars. I later learned that it was started by someone who had mistaken the name T. William McIntyre with T. Boone Pickens both men being wealthy and from Texas. I called McIntyre the other day out of the clear blue sky and asked if Christopher and I could visit. He immediately said that he would love to have us visit. In his subsequent email he said the following: “Greg
you are still funny. No you do not need a sign around your neck. Remember
you sent me a Xmas card with your family photo a few years ago. (It did
appear to be your picture) smile. You will be able to recognize me with no
problem because I will be the person walking and everyone will be watching
me in amaze saying "who's that man, he looks like, oh my god its Bill
McIntyre". Smile. I am looking forward to meeting your son Christopher
as well. I have many nice stories to tell him about our days. Beginning with
our ARC security job. Remember the uniforms. Can't wait to see you.” McIntyre and I shared an apartment
together one summer in Atlanta during our Morehouse days. There was never a
dull moment. McIntyre with his movie star good looks always had a flood of
women. McIntyre served as my
Attorney General when I was SGA President. He did a remarkable job and many
Morehouse students still remember him. He is the type of guy you “love” or “hate”. There is no middle ground when it
comes to relating to McIntyre. He is by far one of the smartest human beings
I have ever met. Christopher and I are looking forward to Spring Break 2010
and visiting the McIntyre Estate. I assume the chauffeur is on vacation
since he is picking us up from the airport himself. I was particularly
impressed that he is allowing us to stay at his Estate even though his maid, cook, gardener and butler will all be on
vacation. God only made one “T. William McIntyre” and he did an
outstanding job! So if you are looking for something to do
this Spring Break, consider going through your old address book and calling
up an old friend. He or she would probably be thrilled to hear from you!
