WISDOM

Whenever I reflect on my life I come to one conclusion, the most significant watershed moment was the moment many years ago when I asked God to grant me wisdom. I am sure all of you have read the Serenity Prayer:

G
od grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

~ Reinhold Niebuhr

An unknown saint had this wisdom to share: “I asked God for strength, that I might achieve. I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey…

    I asked for health, that I might do greater things. I was given infirmity, that I might do better things…

I asked for riches, that I might be happy. I was given poverty that I might be wise… I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men. I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God… I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life. I was given life, that I might enjoy all things…

I got nothing that I asked for--- but everything I had hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered--- I m among all, most richly blessed!

You may be confused and bewildered at the moment, but now is the time more than any other time for you to get on your knees and ask the Lord to grant you WISDOM!

 In the words of my dad, You must honor the chair whether it is sitting, walking or lying down.”
